So, normally I post my cocktail recipes on Wednesday, but since this week has been a little busy, I decided to post it today. We enjoyed these cocktail smoothies over the weekend and they were so refreshing. The weather just has been so warm here (and muggy, to boot!) that it was begging for cherry beer slushies, watermelon beer, or these pineapple mango vodka smoothies.
I originally set out to make pineapple mango margaritas (hence all of the lime juice), but at 8pm on Saturday night, I realized I was all out of tequila and the liquor stores wouldn’t be open until Monday. So, I made the next logical thing: vodka smoothies. If you like your drinks sweeter, definitely add in more sugar, but, since I don’t like my drinks too sweet and the pineapple and mango that I got were so sweet already, I just didn’t need any.
Because of the frozen fruit, you don’t need any ice, and it blends up so nice. Feel free to use both frozen fruit or just one, or whatever you have on hand. Definitely try these this weekend – they are the perfect reward after this long week (maybe it was just me?).
Oh, and Happy FRIDAY – so glad it’s finally here!
Pineapple Mango Vodka Smoothies
1 cup mango, diced (can use frozen)
1 cup frozen pinapple
Juice of 3 limes
2/3 cup vodka
1/4 cup Triple Sec
Up to 1/4 cup sugar, to taste
Place the mango, pineapple, lime juice, vodka, and triple sec into a blender. Blend until smooth. Taste and add sugar, if needed and blend to incorporate. Serve immediately in salt rimmed glasses.
What is triple sec? Thanks!
Hi Martha! Triple sec is an orange-flavored liqueur (here’s the wikipedia page about it). You should easily be able to find it in any place that sells liqueurs. Hope this helps! Have a great weekend 🙂
